In previous work, we proposed and demonstrated the suitability of computing visual attention on the sphere for the processing of omnidirectional images of various kind. Static images were considered so far. In this project, we extends the work to the processing of omnidirectional video sequences and demonstrate the capability to produce dynamic saliency maps as well as dynamic spots of attention.
The dynamic VA is obtained by considering the motion in the omnidirectional image sequence. The VA model was extented to comprise motion computation on the sphere. While basic algorithms for motion computation were available from previous work by team members, the programs were adapted to fit the VA computation programs for computation on the sphere.
