The transhimalayan road linking Khatmandu and Lhassa crosses a high col named Lalung La, 5050 m, from where we discover for the first time "our" Labuche Kang II (pyramidal silhouette at the horizon, in the medium of the image). Imagined, dreamed, then object of our preparation and our steps, this summit attracks us and its sight causes our enthusiasm, while a strong and icy wind greets us on these heights, announcing the hard climatic conditions of the northern slope of the Himalayas.
